"The Power of Your Metabolism" by: Frank Suarez

"The Power of Your Metabolism" is a book written by Frank Suarez and talks about loosing weight the natural way. The book talks about loosing weight by understanding your metabolism. Your metabolism is the thing that determines wether you loose weight fast or slow. In order to loose weight you must understand if you are a fast or slow metabolism, how your metabolism works. This seems to be a mystery to most. But reading large chunks of this book has answered a lot of my questions and I'm sure it will answer yours too! But if you don't have the time to read it or simply don't want to, check out this list of things I found interesting about what Frank Suarez had to say in regards to your metabolism.

"The Power of Your Metabolism" KEY POINTS:
*If you have a fast metabolism it is harder to gain weight
*A fast metabolism can be established by anyone, any age, any background. All it takes is practicing good nutrition and exercise habits until your body adjusts!
-EX: Suarez said he knew an elderly lady, 77 years old who went from a size 22, to a size 6 by practicing good nutrition and exercise habbits....

-Therefore losing weight is possible for anyone!

*A slow metabolism means its easier to gain weight and harder to loose weight

*Your thyroid can be determined by using a mercury thermometer. (Check the book for exact numbers)...But your body temperature should be between narrow numbers like 98.0, and 98.6...I think if it dips to 97.6 and below you may have a thyroid problem. (The author mentioned something like doctors don't always detect thyroid problems. So thermometer checks three times a day can help determine this.

*Some factors leading to a slow metabolism is your thyroid

*Some older women have thyroid problems which can effect your metabolism.

*Factors which speed up a slow metabolism are:
-Water
-Good nutrition: Fruits, Veggies, Whole Grains, Fish, Meat

*White Meat: Chicken & Turkey are better than Red Meats: Beef

*Sugar releases a chemical called seretonin, a sensational feeling. This is why some people look toward eating sugary foods because they wan't that feel good feeling
(Instead find other things to do like exercise which releases a feel good chemical which I forgot the name of. haha)
