5 ways to boost your metabolism and burn more calories.

When it comes down to lose weight, boosting your metabolism is just as important as nutrition. You need to turn your body into a furnace that burns more calories than average even when you're not working out. There are a few techniques you can implement on your daily life without much effort to accelerate your results.

Drink more water: There are many reasons why you should keep your body well hydrated. If you are well hydrated you have more energy to workout and you recover faster from your sessions. Your body is also able to eliminate more toxins, which is excellent when you want to get rid of body fat. And finally, it is known that when we drink enough water during the day, we tend to eat less and we rarely experience hunger pangs.

Never skip breakfast. Your breakfast is the most important meal of the day. People think that by skipping breakfast they are "saving calories" and they're eating less overall. The truth is that very often those people are catching up with snacks and hearty meals at night, when your metabolism start to slow down naturally. Researches have shown that people's belly sizes are inversely proportional to their breakfast consumption. Meaning that you tend to develop belly fat easier by skipping your breakfast than by taking it.

Resistance training. Resistance training is crucial to boost your metabolism. Think about it, the more muscle you have, the more calories you need to keep your muscles functioning. So add up some muscle and you'll naturally burn more calories throughout the day.

Avoid alcohol consumption. Alcohol is treated as a toxin by your body. So when you drink alcohol, you are giving your body a hard time to get rid of toxins. As a result, even if you are working out and having a good nutrition, your body can't pay as much attention to fat burning because it is busy dealing with the alcohol.

Try to reduce stress. Stress slows down  metabolism, it breaks down muscle and it encourage the body to store fat. Plus, stressed people tend to eat more and suffer more from hunger pangs than non-stressed people. Stressed people are more inclined to alcohol consumption ... and you know the rest.
